MYTH'S COMMON ELEMENTS

Homer once said, “all men need gods.” Before science,  people believed gods were the great creators, and some still believe gods are the makers of humans and the earth. With those ancient beliefs people constructed amazing creation myths.

People sometimes wonder, why are creation myths so similar? For example many creation myths have elements of gods, chaos and perfection. Which in many minds is bizarre because all beliefs are so different.

A common element in many myths are gods. For example in the Egyptian myth,  the earth and mankind were started off by gods. In the Mayan myth gods start of the world as well. These aren’t the only myths with gods involved. This proves that gods are a common element in creation myths.

At the start of the Egyptian creation myth there was chaos which by the end was vanquished. Chaos is also an element in the Mayan myth. There was tons of chaos when the animals could not praise the gods. There was chaos because without words there were just loud noises.

A third element that is commonly used, would be perfection. For example in the Chinese myth of Phan Ku, Phan Ku died only when the earth and people were complete and perfect. Another myth that shows the element perfection would be the Mayan myth. In this creation myth the gods longed to create the perfect man to take care of their creation, earth. They never gave up until they made flawless humans, although in the end the humans were as good as the gods therefore some of their sight was removed.

As Froid once said, “myths are early man’s dream.” Even though beliefs are different all man are the same. That’s why there are common elements in myths.

My Bag

This is me shown in objects, just like voldemort put his soul in objects. You might ask, why has she chosen a tennis racket and ball, isn't it just a plain racket and ball? My answer to that is my life is plain without my sport, tennis. I started tennis when I was around six. I play tennis to this very day. It has been a part of me ever since the day I started. Not to boast but personally I think I'm pretty good at it. I has always been one of my dreams to be a tennis player just like Maria Sharapova even though she is not at the top right now.

Speaking of dreams, tennis isn't my only dream. I also want to become a singer. That's when my ipod and music book comes in. i have been listening to music pretty much all my life, whether its classical or modern day pop. when I got my ipod,  I was thrilled to have a device which can let me carry music in my own bare hands. I've also been composing my own music. Even though its not very good its worth trying.

Now how can I live my dream without someone who inspires me? My inspiration would probably be Justin Bieber. Justin Bieber is my favourite singer and that's why I have both the albums he has released. He motivates me because every time I'm frustrated with my voice i look at my this album and tell myself, "if that boy can be a singer that great just by YouTube then so can I."

Now enough about, me what about my friends? That's where the photo frame comes in. The Photo showes me and my friends, back in Singapore, before we left to perform for our favourite occasion in front of our favourite people, the Waterside community (the people who lived in my condo, The Waterside.) That picture showes other people my happy place. Every time I want to calm down that's where i go. That was the night I noticed how much I loved my friends. They are my sisters and no matter how far apart we are that will never change.

Now im not a girl who says reading is for nerds. I absolutely adore "Harry Potter" and "Breaking Dawn" book. They represent my amiration for both the authors, Stephanie Meyer and J.K Rowling. The two books are the last of their series. I only put those ones there because I felt those were the ones with the most detail, the ones that made me tell my mother, "mom that was a amazing book!"

Since my father has a love for modern technology, his jeans rubbed of on me. my phone is one example of my interest. It is most definitely not a simple phone you would give a child. In my mind it is a phone for bussiness people like my dad. My dad works for the company microsoft, when he is working on his computer and I show interest in what he is doing he is always happy to explan it to me. That is why whenever there is a technical glitch on the computer and my dad is not around, my family calls me.
If my dreams of a singer or a tennis player dont work out then i have a third choice of a bussiness women.
And finally my swaveboard. I have had my swaveboard for over a year. I was the first to get it amongst my friends. After I mastered learning to balance on it for at least ten minuets, I think I was a walking advertisement, because after that everyone went out and bought one.

My name

What’s in a name

My name is a pink lily. It’s not one of a kind, you come across it anywhere. It is simple yet pretty. Even though to some it’s unoriginal and plain, it’s still me. My name is a stalker, it creeps behind me where ever I go but it’s not scary because you know it’s a friend. Tanya is a stary night, the most beautiful thing in the world in my parents eyes. My name is Slavic. It means Russian saint. I am not Russian neither a saint but I love my name, Tanya because its mine. Usually the English spelling for my name is Tania. The German spelling is Tanja. My name is also Russian. In Russia it would be short form for Tatania and Tatyana. Unlike alot of people I have a middle name.

My middle name is my cruella devil but yet it is part of my religion. It is cruella because it always finds a way to humiliate me. It embarrasses me not because it’s a horrible name but because I absolutely detest the name. Maria is a wedding gown, elegant smooth and fragile where as I am Serena Williams, strong, bold although feminine at times. Maria is part of my religion because it is the Latin word for Mary who in my religion is the mother of Jesus. My name's origin is not only Latin but other countries too. For example Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Dutch, Scandinavian, Polish, and Czech. Though my name's origin is latin and hebrew. And finally something that everyone in my family share. Our surname.

My surname is a sign saying "this way." It leads you to my religion just by hearing it.You can guess it is Christian because the name is mentioned in the Christian bible when Jesus rises Lazarus back from the dead.  Lazarus is a rare type of wine, not common, old and strong. I like that because I am someone who longs to stand out. My name in greek is lazaros.
